"Wushu Traditions: The Art of Life and Longevity": Sports Project Launched in Amur Region
The Wushu Federation of the Amur Region is implementing the grant project "Wushu Traditions: The Art of Life and Longevity" to popularize sports and a healthy lifestyle. The initiative received 1.4 million rubles as part of the governor's grant in 2025.
Federation President Natalya Shedko noted that the project is aimed at people with sedentary lifestyles, regardless of age. Plans include filming five video lessons with wushu and qigong exercises for different groups—from joint gymnastics to breathing practices, balance, and coordination exercises.
In addition, Blagoveshchensk residents will have access to 12 free weekly health-improving wushu training sessions over three months. This will help them master the technique, form a habit, and transition to independent practice. Online lessons will make the practice accessible to all Amur residents, according to the regional government.
The project represents a comprehensive approach to promoting traditional Chinese martial arts as a wellness practice, combining in-person instruction with digital resources to reach the widest possible audience across the region and encourage long-term participation in health-promoting physical activity.
