The International Wushu Federation (IWUF) is proud to announce that wushu has been officially selected as a Category A sport for The World Games 2029 in Karlsruhe, Germany. This marks the second consecutive edition in which wushu will feature as an official sport at The World Games — a powerful endorsement of its rising global influence.

The decision was confirmed during the IWGA Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Lausanne, Switzerland, on April 25. IWUF was actively represented at the meeting by Vice President Mr. Anthony Goh and Secretary General Ms. Zhang Yuping.

This announcement comes on the heels of wushu's remarkable success at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, where the sport ranked 2nd in ticket sales among all sports on the program, and the event organization earned widespread acclaim from athletes, officials, and spectators alike.

IWUF extends its sincere gratitude to the IWGA and to everyone who has supported wushu throughout this incredible journey. With Karlsruhe 2029 on the horizon, the global wushu community looks forward to bringing the sport's energy, artistry, and tradition to an even wider international audience.
