Technical Meeting Marks the Start of the 5th World Taijiquan Championships in Burgas

Representatives of the participating nations gathered earlier today for the official Technical Meeting, opened by host Stefan Kolev, ahead of tonight's Opening Ceremony at Sports Hall "Mladost".

The 5th World Taijiquan Championships in Burgas have officially moved into their operational phase. Earlier today, delegates from the participating national federations gathered at the official Technical Meeting - the formal procedural session in which competition rules, draw outcomes, schedule confirmations and judging protocols are reviewed with all teams ahead of the start of competition. The meeting was opened by the host, Stefan Kolev, welcoming the international delegations to Burgas on behalf of the local organising committee.

With 40 countries and 400 athletes confirmed, the Technical Meeting underlined the scale of the event - a record-breaking edition in the history of the World Taijiquan Championships. Each delegation had the opportunity to raise questions, clarify procedural details and confirm the final list of competitors registered for the four days of competition that follow.

The day's programme continues with the rehearsal of the Opening Ceremony at midday, where performers, flag-bearers and officials will run through the full ceremonial sequence ahead of tonight's main event. The official Opening Ceremony begins at 18:00 local Bulgarian time at Sports Hall "Mladost", marking the symbolic start of the championships.
