The French National Wushu Championships, held on March 28–29 in Argenteuil, brought together more than 460 competitors, highlighting the sport’s growing momentum in the country. Hosted at the Roger Ouvrard Sports Hall, the event featured taolu, traditional combat, and tuishou in a competitive and focused atmosphere.

In taolu events, the technical level continues to rise steadily. This progress reflects years of structured development, including national training camps, standardized teaching methods, and clearer competition rules. Among senior athletes, competition has become increasingly intense, with performances improving across both men’s and women’s divisions.

Younger competitors also showed promising development, demonstrating strong commitment, discipline, and execution. Their performances indicate a well-established pipeline of talent built through a progressive training system.

Traditional combat is also gaining popularity, with increasing participation at each event. This growth suggests a deeper understanding of the discipline and a sustained interest that is expected to continue in future seasons. Meanwhile, tuishou made its debut at the national championships, marking an important step toward further technical and organizational development.

The event was praised for its smooth organization and use of digital tools, including live streaming and competition management systems, which improved accessibility for both participants and spectators. With continued support from clubs, volunteers, and organizers, French wushu is moving toward a more structured and sustainable future, with the next major event being the National Sanda Light Championship at the end of April.
