Kastamonu University claimed the runner-up spot at the Turkish Interuniversity Wushu Championship held at Sakarya Serdivan Sports Hall, where 216 athletes from 56 universities competed in Sanda and Taolu categories.

In the men's Sanda division, Kastamonu University athletes Hüseyin Eren Küçükoğlu and Sedat Altun won gold medals, while Asrın Fırat Yaman and Doğukan Doğan earned bronze. These results secured the university the second-place team trophy in the Sanda discipline.

The athletes were coached by Associate Professor Dr. Bayram Ceylan and Research Assistant Hasan Basri Taşkın from the Faculty of Sport Sciences' Coaching Education Department.

Kastamonu University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal congratulated the athletes and coaches, emphasizing that students' active participation in sports alongside their academic development enriches the university's culture. He expressed confidence that the university's supportive approach to athletics will continue encouraging students to excel across various fields.
