The Russian Wushu Federation (RWF) has announced that the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) has officially lifted all restrictions on Russian athletes, allowing them to return to international competition with full participation rights. According to the federation, the decision follows the International Olympic Committee Executive Board's recommendations issued on July 7, 2026, and came into effect during the International Yongchun Wushu Championships held in Foshan, China, from July 22–26.

The RWF stated that Russian athletes will now be able to compete on the international stage on equal terms. The federation also reiterated its long-standing position that the restrictions imposed on Russian athletes were unlawful and claimed they were inconsistent with the Olympic Charter.

According to the federation, it never requested that the IWUF remove the sanctions, emphasizing that the international governing body made the decision independently. The statement also noted that the IWUF was among the last international combat sports federations to lift its restrictions.

The federation concluded by congratulating its members on what it described as "the triumph of common sense and the correct actions of the new IOC leadership," ending its announcement with the message: "Sport is beyond politics!"
