Events Center to Host IV Wushu Festival in Nova Petrópolis
The Garden of Serra Gaúcha is preparing for a weekend of immersion in the oriental and sporting universe. From March 27-29, the Nova Petrópolis Events Center will host the IV Wushu Festival 2026. Combining tradition and modernity, the event promises to attract between 3,000 and 5,000 people with programming that blends professional fights, technical seminars, cosplay contests, and musical shows.
The festival marks a historic moment for regional sports, featuring the first night of professional fights with official sanction from the National Boxing Council (CNB) in Rio Grande do Sul in more than a decade. Beyond the competitive focus, the Wushu Festival innovates by being the first event to integrate geek culture, offering immersive experiences for families, athletes, and pop culture enthusiasts.
Among the major highlights of the program is a technical seminar with UFC fighter Caio Borralho, a reference in mixed martial arts, and the performance by singer Kamaitachi, who takes the stage on Sunday, March 29, in his first performance at a multicultural event.
The three-day festival represents a unique fusion of martial arts competition, cultural education, and entertainment, positioning Nova Petrópolis as an emerging hub for both traditional wushu and contemporary combat sports in southern Brazil. The event's diverse programming aims to appeal to multiple generations and interests, from serious martial arts practitioners to families seeking cultural experiences and pop culture fans looking for cosplay competitions.
