Athletes from Russia’s Amur region delivered an impressive performance at the national wushu championships held in Moscow, winning more than 20 medals across multiple events. The competition, which ran from April 5 to 11, brought together over 600 athletes from across the country, including a 14-member team from Amur.

Competing in kung fu disciplines such as traditional wushu and sanda, the Amur team achieved most of its success in the taolu category. In total, they secured 22 medals: five gold, eleven silver, and six bronze, marking one of their strongest showings at a national event.

Gold medalists included Artem Shedko, Sofya Grunicheva, Maria Kochubey, and Arina Grosheva. Silver medals were earned by athletes such as Sofya Stepanova, Olga Burlakova, Sofya Podgorkina, Elena Zorkaltseva, Damir Nezhdanov, and others. Bronze medals went to competitors including Evgeny Bezrukov, Artem Budnikov, and several repeat medalists.

The results highlight the depth and consistency of the Amur team, with multiple athletes reaching the podium in more than one category. Their performances reflect strong preparation and the continued development of wushu in the region.

Overall, the championship served as a major national stage for showcasing talent, with the Amur delegation emerging as one of the standout teams of the tournament.
