10th World Junior Wushu Championships Coming to Tianjin, China in March
The 10th World Junior Wushu Championships will take place from March 26-30, 2026, at the Tianjin Olympic Center Gymnasium in China. This marks the first time the event will be held in Chinese mainland, celebrating the competition's 10th anniversary and serving as a key milestone ahead of wushu's debut at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
The championships, one of six official International Wushu Federation competitions, is the largest and most influential youth wushu event worldwide. Since launching in 2006, it has provided young athletes a platform to showcase skills, exchange experiences, and celebrate martial arts culture. This edition will feature 83 gold medals across taolu (routines) and sanda (sparring) in children, junior, and youth categories, with a new preliminary-final format in taolu to highlight top performers.
The event's visual identity blends martial spirit with Tianjin's cultural heritage. The emblem integrates martial figures, the tai chi symbol, and a five-pointed star. Medals draw inspiration from Tianjin's Nezha mythology, featuring a hollow Qiankun Quan design, while the mascot Wu Xiaoxia portrays a spirited young warrior modeled on the mythical figure.
The slogan "Tianjin – where wushu dreams ignite" reflects both athlete aspirations and the city's mission. Official registration opened December 23, as young martial artists worldwide prepare to compete.
