The Pan American Wushu Championship in Argentina marked an important milestone for international Wushu cooperation, welcoming European representation for the first time in the event's history. The occasion brought together leaders from both continents, opening new opportunities for collaboration and the continued development of the sport worldwide.

Patrick Van Campenhout - the President of the European Wushu Kung Fu Federation expressed his gratitude to Pan American President Anthony Goh and Carlos from the Argentine Federation for the invitation to attend the championship. He described his participation as a special opportunity to witness the scale of the event and celebrate the beginning of closer cooperation between Europe and the Pan American Wushu community.

I'm very happy to be here and to witness and to attend this very big event. I think it's fantastic to have the first collaboration between the continent of Europe and Pan American.

Speaking about the significance of the championship, he emphasized that this first collaboration between the two continents represents an important step forward for international Wushu. He also reflected on the World Wushu Championship held in Brazil the previous year, organized by Mr. Marcus, highlighting its importance in providing more Latin American athletes and representatives with the opportunity to participate in a major international competition.

According to the federation president, these events represent significant milestones in the development of Wushu across Latin America. He noted that the technical level of athletes from the region continues to improve gradually, demonstrating the progress being made by national federations and their sporting communities.

While recognizing the differences between the current level of competition in Latin America and Europe, he stressed the importance of continued development through athlete training, coaching education and seminars. These efforts, he explained, will be crucial to raising standards and creating stronger foundations for the future of Wushu.

The championship in Argentina therefore represents more than a sporting event. It is an opportunity to strengthen international partnerships, exchange knowledge and experience, and build a closer relationship between European and Pan American Wushu organizations for the benefit of the sport and its athletes.
