With wushu joining the programme of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, the martial art is attracting a growing number of young people around the world.

Hayat Nadif began practising wushu at the age of four. After becoming a multiple-time Moroccan national and African champion, she moved to China—the birthplace of the discipline—to continue developing her skills.

Now studying medicine in Beijing, Nadif is pursuing her ambition of becoming a doctor while remaining committed to the sport that has shaped her life. Her journey is a story of passion and perseverance, as well as a bridge between Moroccan and Chinese cultures.
