Kyrgyzstan’s national team won 22 medals at the 4th Wulin Kungfu International Traditional Wushu Tournament in Shaanxi Province, China. More than 1,800 athletes from China, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries competed at the event near Xi’an.

Eleven athletes represented the Traditional Wushu Federation of Kyrgyzstan, led by national honored coach, world champion and Seitek Wushu School director Evgeny Lopatkin. The team included masters and candidates for master of sport who trained at the National Center for Children and Youth “Seitek.”

Kyrgyz athletes collected 13 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals across various disciplines. The tournament promotes traditional martial arts connected to the culture and history of the ancient Silk Road.

The team’s next major event will be the 2026 Asian Traditional Wushu Championships, also scheduled to take place in China, where the Kyrgyz athletes will look to continue their strong international performances.
