Wushu and Tai Chi Demonstrations Take Over the Center of Ruse
Ruse hosted a two-day sports festival featuring free Wushu, Tai Chi and pantomime demonstrations over the weekend. Organized by Kalagia Sports Club, the event aimed to promote an active and healthy lifestyle among children and adults, with residents and visitors invited to take part in the activities.
The festival began on Saturday, August 29, at 5:30 p.m. in the Rose Garden of Youth Park under the theme “Sport and Health in Nature.” Participants took part in open exercises and watched demonstrations of basic Wushu and Tai Chi techniques, alongside pantomime performances, outdoor games, competitions and improvisations.
On Sunday, August 30, the festival moved to the city center, with events taking place in front of Ruse Municipality. A video presentation began at 6:00 p.m., followed by a special show from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., where participants demonstrated skills they had developed throughout the year in various sporting and creative disciplines.
The two-day event concluded with certificates and awards for the most active families and individual participants. The initiative was held under the Municipality’s “Sport – 2026” program, with support from the International Youth Center – Ruse and the Student Sports School – Ruse.
