The Vologda Region team defeated a visiting squad from China's Shaanxi Province in a wushu sanda match held during the International Martial Arts Festival at the Vologda Sports Palace. The event was organized in celebration of the International Day for Dialogue Among Civilizations and became one of the region's major sporting events of the season.

The highlight of the festival was a ten-bout team match in wushu sanda. After a series of closely contested fights, the Vologda team secured a 6-4 victory over its Chinese opponents.

Governor Georgy Filimonov praised the athletes' performance, saying,

"I congratulate our athletes on an excellent result. I thank the Shaanxi Province team for their exciting and fair competition, for giving us the opportunity to experience the traditions of Chinese wushu, and for their contribution to promoting martial arts in our region."

In addition to the competition, spectators enjoyed demonstration performances in kickboxing and other martial arts. A special attraction was a performance by Shaolin monks, who showcased traditional techniques that combine physical training, discipline, and martial arts philosophy.

Among the distinguished guests were Chinese Ambassador Zhang Hanhui, MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko, and Russian Wushu Federation President Gleb Muzrukov. The festival was organized as part of the regional "Summer of the Russian North" project and the national "Sport of Russia" program.
