National athlete Nazlı Karakuş, a student at Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ), achieved a major international success by winning the gold medal at the FISU World University Combat Sports Championships held in Brasília, Brazil.

Representing Turkey in the women's Wushu Sanda 52 kg division, Karakuş delivered an outstanding performance throughout the tournament and defeated all of her opponents to claim the world title. The championship took place from June 8 to 13 under the organization of the Turkish University Sports Federation.

Following the competition, federation officials congratulated the young athlete on her achievement and wished her continued success in future international events.

BUÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz praised Karakuş's accomplishment, emphasizing that the university takes pride not only in the academic achievements of its students but also in their sporting excellence. He noted that her world championship victory was a source of great honor for both Turkey and the university.

Yılmaz also thanked the coaches and academic staff who contributed to Karakuş's development and reaffirmed the university's commitment to supporting student-athletes in their pursuit of success on the international stage.
