The Turkish Ministry of National Defense (MSB) and the Turkish Wushu Kung Fu Federation have signed a protocol officially incorporating wushu kung fu into the Turkish Armed Forces Sports Power (TSK Sports Power) program. The agreement marks the introduction of the martial art into military sports activities and training.

Under the protocol, wushu kung fu will be taught at the National Defense University’s military academies and non-commissioned officer vocational schools, where school teams will be established to compete in national and international events representing the Turkish Armed Forces. In addition, personnel serving in the Army, Navy, and Air Force will receive close-combat training coordinated by the Turkish Wushu Kung Fu Federation.

The federation described the agreement as a historic step, stating that it represents not only the inclusion of a new sport within the armed forces but also "a strategic cooperation that brings together sport, discipline, and defense." Officials added that the initiative is expected to strengthen military training through wushu kung fu's technical foundation and close-defense principles while also supporting the sport's development across Turkey.

The federation confirmed that training programs and competition activities under the protocol will continue in the coming years. It also thanked Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, senior Ministry of National Defense officials, Turkish Wushu Kung Fu Federation President Abdurrahman Akyüz, Vice President Rıdvan Duran, and everyone who contributed to making the agreement possible.
