The anniversary edition of the Ussuri Tiger Wushu Tournament took place on May 30 in Ussuriysk, Primorsky Krai, bringing together around 200 athletes as part of Russia’s national “Youth and Children” development program. The event was organized in line with the goals of supporting youth participation and talent development through sport.

The opening ceremony featured an impressive demonstration program, with participants showcasing their skills in various traditional Chinese weapons and displaying precise martial arts techniques. Athletes then competed across three disciplines: taolu, taijiquan, and sanda, highlighting a high standard of performance throughout the tournament.

Alongside the youth competitions, older athletes took part in the “Primorye Stars” tournament, where they performed taijiquan routines. The event also welcomed special guests from China, whose performances added an international dimension to the competition.

Organizers noted that the tournament continues to grow in significance, providing opportunities for athletes of different ages to compete, exchange experience, and promote the development of wushu in the region. The participation of Chinese guests further strengthened cultural and sporting ties between the two countries.

The Ussuri Tiger Tournament remains one of the key wushu events in Primorsky Krai, helping to encourage youth involvement in martial arts while showcasing both traditional and modern aspects of the sport.
