Niğde Wushu Team Achieves Great Success in Malatya
The Niğde Wushu Team achieved significant success at the Inter-Provincial Wushu Championship held in Malatya from February 6-8, organized in memory of the "February 6 Disaster of the Century Earthquake Martyrs" with approximately 200 athletes participating from eight provinces.
Demonstrating outstanding performance throughout the competitions, the Niğde athletes left all their competitors behind by winning 13 gold and 2 silver medals, completing the championship with the first-place team trophy. The championship served as both a sporting competition and a commemoration of the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck the region.
In a statement made by the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, officials said:
"The success achieved in this meaningful organization once again revealed the rising graph of Niğde sports. We congratulate all our athletes and coaches and wish them continued success."
The tournament brought together athletes from across the region to honor earthquake victims while showcasing regional wushu talent.
The Niğde team's dominant performance, securing the overwhelming majority of gold medals, demonstrates the quality of training and dedication of both the athletes and their coaching staff.
