Meram Belediyespor's successful wushu athlete Defne Temur will experience the pride of representing Turkey in the international arena. The young athlete, who has attracted attention with her outstanding performance, was invited to the Wushu Kung Fu National Team squad by the Turkish Wushu Federation. With her determination, diligence, and resolve, Defne Temur continues to be a source of pride for both Meram and Turkey, serving as an example to young athletes.

The 10th World Junior Wushu Championship, included in the 2026 activity program of the Turkish Wushu Federation and the International Wushu Federation (IWUF), will be held in Tianjin, China, from March 23-31, 2026. Prior to this important organization, the national team will hold a training camp in China from March 1-20, 2026, to prepare for the championship. Defne Temur will participate in both this camp and the World Championship, competing under the star and crescent flag.

The national team program extends beyond the championship. After the competition, the Wushu National Team will prepare for the 4th Youth Olympic Games, to be held in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, from October 30 to November 15, 2026. Defne Temur's invitation to the national team is seen as a concrete indicator of the importance given to sports in Meram.
