An eight-member team from Kullu has departed for Hamirpur to compete in the 23rd Himachal Pradesh Junior Wushu Championships, which will be held on July 14-15 at Him Academy School. According to Kullu Wushu Association General Secretary and coach Ludar Chand, the athletes were selected following a special sanda and taolu training camp held at Holy Angels School in Shamshi.

The women's team includes Smriti (45kg), Pallavi (48kg), and Ekta Thakur (52kg), while the men's squad features Anan Thakur (48kg), Aarush Dogra (52kg), Devesh Parashar (60kg), and Pankaj Thakur (70kg). Rishit Chopra will compete in the nanquan taolu event.

Coach Ludar Chand said the state championships will serve as the qualifying event for the national junior competition, with the winners earning the opportunity to represent Himachal Pradesh at the national level.

Before departing, the athletes and team management received best wishes from Kullu Wushu Association President Purna Chand, Vice President Jhabe Ram, Rakesh Kumar, Chairman Neelam Sharma, and other association officials, who expressed confidence in the team's performance.
