An athlete from Russia’s Irkutsk region achieved a standout result at the national wushu championship held in Moscow from April 7 to 10. The event featured competitions in traditional wushu and kung fu, bringing together top athletes from across the country.

The Irkutsk region was represented by six athletes from the Baikal Wushu League: Polina Zueva, Viktoriya Kurskaya, Alexandra Sedykh, Maria Avdosenko, Arina Sirenova, and Anetta Krapusto. The team competed across multiple disciplines, delivering strong performances throughout the tournament.

Anetta Krapusto emerged as the top performer, winning a gold medal in the long weapons discipline and adding a silver medal in the praying mantis fist category. Her results marked a major achievement for both herself and her region.

Polina Zueva also reached the podium, earning a bronze medal in the same discipline. The remaining athletes finished within the top ten in their respective categories, demonstrating solid overall performance.

The team was guided by head coach Dmitry Skryabikov, whose leadership contributed to the athletes’ success at one of the country’s most important wushu events.
