Indonesia Secures Third Place at 2026 Junior World Wushu Championships
Indonesia’s Junior National Wushu Team achieved an impressive third-place finish at the 10th Junior World Wushu Championships, held in Tianjin, China, from March 23 to 30, 2026. Competing against top young athletes from around the world, the team brought home a total of 27 medals, consisting of 9 gold, 11 silver, and 7 bronze.
China claimed the overall championship title, while Hong Kong finished in second place.
Indonesia’s performance closely matched its previous achievement at the 2024 edition, where the team won 29 medals. Airlangga emphasized that the athletes competing in Tianjin represent the future of Indonesian wushu, expected to carry the nation’s flag in major international competitions in the years ahead.
Among the standout performers were Noach Daiki Santoso and Clara Abigail, each winning two gold medals and one silver. Noach earned gold in Nan Gun and Nan Dao, along with silver in Nan Quan, while Clara secured gold in Nan Quan and Nan Gun, plus silver in Nan Dao. Several other athletes also contributed gold medals across different categories, highlighting the team’s depth and strength.
