The Ho Chi Minh City wushu team secured second place overall at the 2026 National Team Championship, winning a total of 15 medals, including five golds. The competition concluded on April 17 in Lang Son, bringing together top fighters from across Vietnam.

The team’s gold medals came from strong performances in multiple disciplines. Duong Hoang Son and Tran Phan Anh Tuan each won gold in taijiquan events, while the trio of Dao Vi Trung, Dao Vi Chinh, and To Kien Van claimed gold in the men’s duilian event. In the women’s duilian category, Le Tran Bao Tran, Bui Thi Cam Tien, and Nguyen Thi Thao Nguyen also secured gold, while Pham Hoang Phuc topped the podium in the 48 kg sanda division.

The tournament also saw standout performances from other leading Vietnamese athletes. Dang Tran Phuong Nhi, Vuong Thuy Quynh, and Banh Thi My Le each earned gold medals in their respective events, while SEA Games champion Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy won gold in the women’s 60 kg category after a strong final.

In the overall standings, Hanoi finished first with 18 gold medals, followed by Ho Chi Minh City in second place and the Army team in third. A total of 18 teams managed to win at least one gold medal during the competition.

The championship served as an important benchmark for teams as they prepare for the 2026 National Sports Games, helping coaches and athletes assess their level and readiness for upcoming major competitions.
