Craiova reconfirms once again that it is one of the most important centers of Chinese martial arts in Romania. At the National Wing Chun Championship held Saturday, March 14, at the "Ion Constantinescu" Sports Hall, athletes from C.S. Wu Quan-Li Craiova achieved an impressive result: 111 medals in a competition that brought together 163 participants from 12 clubs across the country.

The event included two major competitions organized under the aegis of the Romanian Wushu Kungfu Federation: the 9th edition of the National Wing Chun Championship—"Spring Boxing"—and the 2nd edition of the Romania Cup in Bingdao, dedicated to Chinese sword fighting. The Craiova club C.S. Wu Quan-Li, the competition organizer, participated with 53 athletes coordinated by distinguished coach Silviu Obeanu, and the results confirmed the value of the local team.

In total, Banat athletes mounted the podium 111 times across over 150 competition events in disciplines including Taolu, weapons, wooden dummy, and Sanda Wing Chun. The medal tally for Craiova athletes included Taolu events: 38 gold medals, 31 silver, and 20 bronze; and fighting events (Sanda Wing Chun): 11 gold medals, 7 silver, and 4 bronze. This result places Craiova at the top of the national hierarchy and confirms the sustained work carried out within one of Romania's most powerful Chinese martial arts clubs.

Among the names that brought national titles in full-contact fighting were Bogdan Smărăndache at seniors, -90 kg category; Valentin Văduva at seniors, -75 kg category; Niță Eric-Mihai at juniors, -75 kg category; and Teleasă Maria at juniors, -85 kg category. Young athletes Dominic-Ștefan Vladu and Gabriel-Casian Vîlceleanu also recorded excellent results and are considered among the future hopes of the Craiova club.

The results obtained at Craiova are not an isolated case but the continuation of a tradition of performance. From 2005 to the present, C.S. Wu Quan-Li has accumulated over 3,200 national medals, plus numerous top placements at international competitions. Recent world and European achievements include Andrada Radu-Mic conquering world gold at cadets in China in 2025, and Mara Obeanu obtaining world silver at seniors, also in China in 2025. Through consistently obtained results, C.S. Wu Quan-Li Craiova has consolidated its status as an elite organization in Romanian Chinese martial arts, promoting Wing Chun style and permanently investing in training young athletes with the clear objective of reaching and maintaining world performance standards.
