Three golds, three silvers, and two bronzes—this was the medal haul brought home by Accademia Wushu Sanda Alessandria at the Winter Dragon Trophy, a national Sanda combat competition sponsored by the Fiwuk federation and organized in Fabbrico, in the province of Reggio Emilia. Approximately 80 athletes participated in the event.

The Alessandria team consisted of seven athletes—two seniors and five cadets competing in combat for the first time—led by head instructor Master Gianluca D'Agostino with technical collaborator Fabio Venditti, who was called to serve on the referee panel. Among the seniors, Matteo Testardini won gold in the 65 kg category and Luca Orabona claimed gold in the 80 kg division.

In the cadet division, Roman Grassano secured first place in the 52 kg category. Silver medals went to Matilde Zenato in the 56 kg category and Mattia Hametaj in the 70 kg division. Bronze was earned by Samuel Navarria in the 80 kg category, while Alfio Karriqi took silver in the 65 kg class.

In the team standings, Accademia Wushu Sanda Alessandria finished in second place overall. The next competitive appointment for the master's students will be the Italian Championship in Catania, scheduled for mid-June.

The strong performance by the Alessandria academy, particularly the success of the first-time cadet competitors, demonstrates the quality of training and preparation provided by the coaching staff and highlights the growing strength of Italian wushu sanda at both senior and youth levels.
