Indian wushu athlete Divyanshi Choudhary has softened her criticism of the Wushu Association of India after being replaced in the country’s 2026 Asian Games squad. The 18-year-old was initially selected for the women’s 60kg Sanda category but was replaced by experienced athlete Naorem Roshibina Devi after the federation cited an ACL injury.

Divyanshi had previously questioned the decision in an emotional video, alleging mental harassment and claiming she had defeated Roshibina during the selection trials. The federation maintained that her replacement was based on medical advice and that she was not fit to compete because of her knee injury.

Following the controversy, Divyanshi has said she understands the federation’s reasoning and is now focusing on recovering from her injury. However, she has continued to make allegations of harassment involving Roshibina, claims that have not been independently established.

The dispute has drawn attention to the circumstances surrounding Divyanshi’s exclusion from the Asian Games team, while the federation continues to maintain that the decision was made on medical grounds.
