Assam’s young wushu athlete Diksha Tiwari delivered an impressive international performance at the Batumi Open International Wushu Championship 2026 in Batumi, Georgia, winning three medals for India.

Representing India in the Taolu events, the athlete from Naduar in Biswanath district secured two silver medals and one bronze at the international tournament.

Diksha won silver medals in Nanquan and Nandao, showcasing her skills in southern-style barehand and broadsword routines. She also added a bronze medal in Nanquan, completing a three-medal haul.

Her achievement has been celebrated across Biswanath and Assam, highlighting the growing emergence of young wushu talent from the state on the international stage.

Diksha credited her family, coaches and supporters for helping her reach the international level. Her parents, Umesh Tiwari and Sabita Bharali Tiwari, have played an important role in supporting her sporting journey.

The three-medal performance in Georgia adds another promising chapter to Diksha’s career and underlines the potential of Assam’s young wushu athletes to make their mark in international competition.
