Accademia Wushu Sanda Alessandria delivered an outstanding performance at the Italian Cup in Palagonia, Sicily, finishing second in the overall club standings. The team, consisting of five athletes and led by coach Gianluca D’Agostino alongside black belt assistant Andrea Giacobbe, returned home with four gold medals and one silver.

Gold medals were won by Matteo Testardini in the Senior 70 kg division, Luca Orabona in the Senior 80 kg category, Sara Valsecchi in the Senior 65 kg division, and Lorenzo Moro in the Cadet 52 kg category. Samuele Navarria added a silver medal in the Junior 85 kg division.

The strong results in the combat competition came just days after the club achieved notable performances at the Italian Traditional Taolu Championships in Imola, highlighting the strength of the association across multiple Wushu Kung Fu disciplines.

These achievements further confirm the high level reached by the club’s competitive teams and strengthen the athletes’ chances of earning selection to the Italian national team ahead of the 2027 European Championships.

The success in Sicily marks another important milestone for the Alessandria-based club as it continues to establish itself among Italy’s leading wushu organizations.
